Day Off

Sometimes it seems that every moment of our lives is devoted to ministry. 

We get stuck in the slump (I'm sure you can all relate) of date nights that turn into ministry meetings, dinner topics, late night in bed ministry planning, B's nap time schedule catch ups, and then, of course, team meetings, church, and anything we didn't get done during the week all weekend. 

So, when we realized late Sunday that Monday was a holiday I went online researching day trips we hadn't yet taken.  Considering that there was a 70% chance of rain, that was a bit of a task.  However, we decided to brave the rain to take in views of the North Head Lighthouse, the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, and the Cape Disappointment State Park at the head of the Columbia River. 

It was a much needed day away and we quite enjoyed our little adventure.  Sometimes holidays are a good reminder to take a break!  :)
